HONEY celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009 and to mark the milestone, the hive wanted to demonstrate our passion for marketing communications with a cause related campaign that used all of our skills and experience across all media. The fundraising event would feature 20 works of art for auction juried from more than 140 pieces submitted from across Canada, and raise $10,000 for the Canadian Bee Research Fund and The ARTS Project.
The campaign clearly demonstrated a multidisciplinary campaign that included: design, media Relations, website, social Marketing campaign including Facebook and Twitter, guerilla marketing, print advertising, outdoor advertising, promotional Bee-shirts, email and print invitations, special event organization with event signage, themed catering and signature drinks 'Beetinis.' Coverage from both national and local media including The Globe and Mail and CBC Radio, fulfilled our objectives or raising awareness of the dying population of honeybees in Canada.
