Brand Identity UWO: Faculty of Information and Media Sciences

The Faculty of Media Studies at The University of Western Ontario is a complex department with both graduate and undergraduate programs with very separate audiences. In redefining a brand identity we needed to appeal to these separate audiences, divided by discipline, and by type of degree, as well as their needs as a prospective student or a current student or faculty member. Exhaustive research ensured all representative stakeholders had input into the brand identity and the website architecture, design and interface. Photographic images behind the typography of FIMS allowed each program to display its own identity while maintaining a strong unified overall brand. A colour palette further defined the programs online and was extended in print.
