Website Design for London Health Sciences Foundation

Those in attendance at the 2011 London Health Sciences Centre and Foundation Annual Community Meeting were treated to a first: a series of 360 degree tours showing many new spaces throughout LHSC's new facilities that few have seen as well as stories about some of the surgical firsts performed in 2010. The virtual tour housed within the Foundation’s main site, was the result of a far-from-traditional digital adaptation of its annual report.

London Health Sciences and it’s Foundation (LHSC and LHSF respectively), develop an annual report that HONEY has designed and developed for the past 4 years. This year, LHSF wanted  to bring their stories to life through a series of virtual tours that would instill in donors a sense of pride of accomplishment in what their fundraising dollars had created and connect them to both the hospitals and health care providers.

The web development team at HONEY Design used the same photo technology used in real estate tours to demonstrate the brand new facilities in detail. As well as ‘hot spots’, that upon mouse over reveal more information on a new piece of equipment, a new surgical room, lab space, etc. were embedded feature videos. The tour was also built to be iPad compatible so donors can have the virtual experience with an LHSF staff member as their guide, or on their own.

The final tour site housed over 35, 360 degree scenes, 16 feature videos and over 50 hot spots. The Foundation tracked immediate traffic to the tours and will use the 360, which has an iPad compatible version, for donor meetings.
